Food Donors & Resources
The Food Bank accepts food from grocers, farmers, food drives and more.
Our Mission: Feeding the hungry today and solving hunger for tomorrow through community partnership.
Every meal served, every caring food package delivered transforms lives. What began in 1983 as a small food pantry powered by passionate volunteers has grown into northern Nevada’s leading hunger relief organization. As we mark more than 40-years of service to our community, we celebrate the countless lives we have changed together, and we reaffirm the mission of putting an end to hunger across our region. It’s a mission that drives us every day.
The Food Bank works with our partners, volunteers and donors to collect and distribute donated and purchased food. Our staff tirelessly delivers the food to emergency pantries, shelters, senior centers, school pantries and other partner sites.

Last year, we distributed enough food for more than 21 million meals.
Our programs and partner food pantries provide food directly for people in need.
Children, families and seniors have the nutritious food they need to thrive.
Hunger touches every corner of our community, affecting people from all walks of life – your colleagues, your child’s classmates, and the seniors who have built our neighborhoods. Every month, through a network of more than 155 partner agencies and direct programs, the Food Bank of Northern Nevada supports over 155,000 neighbors. Nearly half of those we serve are children and seniors – individuals who represent the heart of our future and the wisdom of our past. In Nevada, one in five children faces food insecurity, a challenge we strive to overcome together.
Many families navigating food insecurity today rely on multigenerational households or shared living arrangements to stretch resources further. These evolving family structures reflect the resilience and unity of those we serve through our programs and partnerships.
Proper nutrition is essential for children to thrive. Without it, children face increased illness, challenges in school, and, for those under five, developmental delays that can have lasting effects throughout their lives.
Many seniors living on fixed incomes, often below $950 a month, face impossible choices between food, medicine, and other essentials. After years of hard work, they are still struggling to access the nutrition they need to stay healthy.
Through strong partnerships with over 155 agencies and programs like Mobile Harvest, Produce on Wheels, and senior commodity boxes, we work together to ensure nutritious food reaches those who need it most.
In addition to our core food distribution programs, we also offer programs and resources to help families with longer term solutions to hunger thro…
