Kids Cafe DInner Program

Throughout the school year, the Kids Cafe Dinner Program serves after school meals at several schools and community centers throughout the Reno/Sparks area.  Meals are typically also served during school breaks.

  • Meals are available at no charge for all children and youth ages 2-18.
  • Children do not have to attend any after school programming being offered at the time of meal service in order to be served dinner.
  • Meals need to be eaten on-site.

Kids Cafe Summer Meals

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada’s Kids Cafe program also offers free breakfast/snack and lunch to children 2-18 years old throughout summer break.  Meals are served at a variety of community locations throughout the summer on weekdays.

For the 2022 summer break, Kids Cafe Summer Meals will be available at more than 30 sites in Reno/Sparks, as well as in Fernley and Schurz (Walker River Paiute Tribe).  Meals begin on June 13.  Meals are available Monday-Friday.  Please note, there is no service on June 20 or July 4.

  • Meals are available at no charge for all children and youth ages 2-18.
  • Meals will be available for grab-n-go.
  • Children must be present at pick-up, or the adult picking up meals must have a school-issued student ID for each child for whom meals are being picked up.
  • Children do not have to attend any programming being offered at the time of service in order to receive a meal.

Changes to the 2022 Summer Meals Schedule Beginning July 11

Please note: Effective Monday, July 11, many of our sites in the Reno/Sparks area will be shifting to a twice weekly, multi-day meal distribution.  Meals picked up from multi-day distrubtions will consist of 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches per child per pick-up.  Some sites will remain on a daily meal service schedule.  Please view the map or calendar for details on the schedule for a specific site.
