Delivering Nutrition Across Northern Nevada and Beyond
Working with over 155 dedicated partner organizations -including food pantries, congregate dining sites, low-income daycares, residential shelters, and more- we provide access to nutritious food and additional support across a vast 90,000-square-mile service area. This region spans 13 counties in Nevada and parts of 10 counties in California, reaching both urban and rural communities. Together, we serve more than 155,000 individuals monthly -families, children, and seniors- helping them thrive.
A Regional Network of Support
As a regional distribution hub, we amplify the impact of food donors -including grocers, farmers, and community organizations- by efficiently managing their contributions and ensuring they reach those in need through our extensive network of partner agencies and direct programs. Our collaboration with these partner agencies goes beyond food distribution, providing training, shared expertise, and capacity-building opportunities to enhance their effectiveness. Together, these efforts enabled the Food Bank and our partners to deliver the equivalent of over 21 million meals last year.
Reaching Every Corner of Our Region
From bustling cities to remote, rural communities, we work tirelessly to meet people where they are. Through direct-to-neighbor programs like school pantries, Kids Cafe, Mobile Harvest, and senior-focused initiatives, along with the support of our extensive partner agency network, we deliver fresh produce and essential groceries to those who need them most. These efforts help families focus on opportunities, not obstacles.
Creating a Healthier, Stronger Community
Every connection we build with our partners and every pound of food we distribute represents a step toward stronger, more resilient communities. By combining resources, expertise, and dedication, we’re paving the way for a future where everyone has access to the nourishment they need to thrive.

Mobile Harvest
Access to healthful, nutrient-rich foods is extremely important for community members served by the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. The Mobile Harvest program is a direct service program that allows us to distribute perishable foods such as fresh produce, bread, and dairy into high-need neighborhoods. Each month, we visit more than 45 sites throughout Reno/Sparks, as well as rural northern Nevada and eastern California. The Food Bank utilizes the free and reduced school lunch numbers to help us identify neighborhoods for distribution and target children and families in need. Thanks to this program, nearly a third of the food distributed to clients each month is fresh produce.
Senior Programs
Seniors are served by the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). This is a program of the USDA in which the Food Bank distributes monthly boxes of food to seniors in need. Boxes are distributed at many sites around northern Nevada and can include cheese, cereals, beans, rice or pasta and canned fruits and vegetables. In addition to the standard box of supplemental food items, clients are able to receive fresh produce during CSFP distributions.
