By submitting your personal information to us, you are agreeing that the Food Bank of Northern Nevada may use the information in accordance with this privacy policy.
INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada only collects information that is volunteered during the registration process or in any responses to specific information requests. We need this information in order to provide services that you request and respect your preferred channels of communication. Examples of the information collected includes: information knowingly provided by you through online forms, surveys, email addresses, personal financial and/or demographic information, charitable contributions, telephone numbers, and addresses. We may also collect your IP address and information through the use of electronic ‘cookies’ or ‘tracking pixels’. However, we limit the use and collection of information about you to the extent necessary to administer our operations.
Except as otherwise indicated, the Food Bank uses the personally identifiable information (“Personal Information”): (a) to respond to any of your inquiries or questions about our services; (b) for internal marketing purposes and as part of the Food Bank’s constituent database; (c) to provide you additional and updated information, materials, and other advertisements regarding Food Bank of Northern Nevada services; (d) to cooperate with government officials or parties in litigation under process of law, or as otherwise required by law; (e) to protect the security or integrity of the Site; (f) to protect against a threat of safety or destruction of property; and/or (g) to protect against legal liability.
Below is a summary of the information we typically collect from you and how it is used. Because we constantly strive to bring new and better services to the community, the list below may not reflect all of the most current service offerings for which information is collected. We’ll do our best to update this policy as we provide new services, so please check back often.
WordPress
By default, WordPress (the content management system that this website is built on) does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users (such as website administrators). This site does collect personal information when a user submits one of our website forms. We keep information submitted through our web forms indefinitely and use it solely for the purpose of contacting you for customer service purposes.
Volunteer Sign-Up (CERVIS)
Information provided by volunteers and visitors will be used by the Food Bank to coordinate and track volunteer projects and to communicate with volunteers about Food Bank opportunities and activities. Such information will not be used for commercial, personal, or unlawful purposes.
Our volunteer management is powered by CERVIS Technologies. When you sign up to volunteer with the Food Bank, we will collect your basic contact information through the CERVIS platform. CERVIS has its own privacy practices.

Donation Forms (Qgiv and Double the Donation)
Personal information provided to make a donation or fill out an online form will not be sold or shared with anyone other than the Food Bank and the payment processor to securely process your transaction.
All of our donation forms, including the peer-to-peer Virtual Food Drive, are hosted by Qgiv. When you make a donation, your name, contact information and payment information is collected directly from Qgiv, a secure donation platform. We do not collect or store your credit card information on this website or our website servers. Qgiv has its own privacy practices.

Forms
If you fill out a contact form, or another form on this site (such as our Food Drive Request form, eNewsletter sign-up form, or any of our other service forms) we will collect your name, email address, phone number and other basic contact information and details you provide through the form. We collect this information solely for the purpose of contacting you and fulfilling your request. Forms on this site are embedded from the platform, Formstack, and submission data lives in Formstack. Formstack has its own privacy practices.

e-Newsletters and Other Digital Communications
The Food Bank of Northern Nevada uses the Feathr platform for sending communications to subscribers of our various eNewsletters and other email activities, as well as to serve digital advertisement in support of our work. Feathr has its own privacy practices. The Feathr platform utilizes cookies and tracking pixels to monitor performance of emails and digital ads.

INFORMATION SHARING
The Food Bank does not sell or rent donor names and addresses with any third parties for any reason. This pertains to any donor information collected both online and offline. Although unlikely, the Food Bank may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide personal information about our users. We will provide this information, to the extent technically possible, upon request and receipt of the appropriate documentation. Disclosure may also occur if we consider it necessary to protect our legal rights, or if the information relates to actual or threatened harmful conduct. We share contact information to third-party marketing services for the purpose of sending solicitation and engagement communications (mail, email, text messages) to supporters. We may also share personal information and donation history with cooperative databases, in which we may participate.
ACCESS AND THE ABILITY TO CORRECT YOUR INFORMATION
The Food Bank stores the information you provide upon registration at our site and for our various services in databases. If your information changes (such as your e-mail address or zip code), or if you no longer desire to volunteer or receive our newsletters, please contact email@fbnn.org to change your information.
PRIVACY OF CHILDREN
For youth volunteers, first and last name will be collected and stored on the CERVIS volunteer platform, along with the email address and/or phone number used to create the profile (preferably the parent/guardian’s email/phone number). This information will be used solely for the creation of the volunteer profile, volunteer scheduling, and communication regarding scheduled volunteer opportunities. In all other respects, the Food Bank does not intend to collect, maintain, store, or use personal information about children under the age of 13.
UNSUBSCRIBING FROM OUR MAILING LIST
In order to ensure that all Food Bank supporters and neighbors utilizing Food Bank programs are informed on current happenings, we send updates on our activities and events through e-newsletters and other email communications. If you are receiving electronic communications from the Food Bank and you decide at any time that you no longer wish to hear from us, you can use the “unsubscribe” link provided in each email to remove yourself from our mailing list or send a request to be removed to email@fbnn.org.
COOKIES AND COMPUTER INFORMATION
We collect the following information about your computer configuration: browser type, operating system, IP address, and the URL of the web page you were on just prior to visiting the Food Bank’s website. We use this information to analyze usage trends, administer the site, and track our users’ movements across our site for aggregate use. This information will not reveal, nor is it associated with your personal identity.
CALIFORNIA CONSUMER PRIVACY ACT (CCPA)
The California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) requires us to provide California residents with some additional information about the categories of personal information we collect and share, where we get that personal information, and how and why we use it.
The CCPA also requires us to provide a list of the “categories” of personal information we collect. In the last 12 months, we collected the following categories of personal information from California residents:
- Identifiers (like your name and contact information); such as the information you submitted if you used our contact form. We use this information to contact you at your request.
- Geolocation data (such as your location based on your IP address); which may be collected through analytics or spam detection tools.
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA, subject to any exemptions provided by the law, including the right to:
- Request to know the categories of personal information we collect, the categories of business or commercial purpose for collecting and using it, the categories of sources from which the information came, the categories of third parties we share it with, and the specific pieces of information we collect about you;
- Request deletion of personal information we collect or maintain;
- Opt out of any sale of personal information; and
- Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights under the CCPA.

NOTIFICATION OF CHANGES
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post a notice of those changes on the privacy policy section of our web site so that you will always have notice of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner incompatible with the stated purposes at the time it was collected, we will post a prominent notification of the change in policy on our web site.
