What do you want for your 10th Birthday?

It takes many people in our community to offer food to those who need a little extra help.  Dillon Greenan knows this and just finished his annual Birthday Food Drive. Dillon just celebrated his tenth birthday and he had an idea to raise food instead of presents.  He decided that he had enough “stuff” and wanted to do something different that would help the community.  He asked for food donations at his party and even at a City of Reno Summer Camp he attended.  Last year was his first effort and he raised about 100 pounds.  This year, he raised over 200 pounds of food and is already planning for next year.

“If you have food to eat and a place to sleep, I challenge you to donate to the Food Bank,” Dillon added when asked about the drive.

Dillon’s parents are proud of Dillon for his work and dedication to this effort and it isn’t difficult to see why.  We are grateful for Dillon and his friends for being the new generation of giving back.

Thank you Dillon from us and from the hungry in our community!
