Reno Rodeo Foundation Supports Backpack Program

The Reno Rodeo Foundation has always been a great partner to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. They have been so involved, especially in initiatives that assist the children in our Region. The Back-Pack Kids program offers children who are homeless or chronically hungry, a bag of weekend to help them in the stretch between Friday and Monday. The Rodeo Foundation donated $2,000.00 to the program to help these children who struggle with their nutrition needs during the weekend. The Back-Pack Kids program does not receive any state or federal funding and with each bag costing about $5, the costs add up quickly. During the busiest time of the last school year, more than 1,100 backpacks were being distributed each week in Washoe County. Thank you to the Rodeo Foundation for allowing the Food Bank to distribute more of these bags to children in need.
