Old Dominion Are Hunger Fighters

Old Dominion Makes Raising Food Their Business

The holiday season is a time when organizations, companies and individuals really show us their support.  It is such a great time of year when so many want to give back and help feed the hungry.  During the course of the few month period, we generally see about 300 food drives going on all through the community.

As you have heard from us in the past, the logistics of the food drive are definitely a challenge.  It takes a lot of coordination, fuel, logistics and man power to facilitate the food drives that are so vital.  That is why we do kick-off events, where folks can pick up their own barrels and the virtual food drives where it all happens online.

We are always looking for better way to do things and that is why we are so impressed with one of our partners.  Our friends at Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. decided that they wanted to spearhead a food drive effort and they are doing it all!

They came out, picked up barrels, solicited about 200 of their partner companies to do drives and are making their goal to raise 20,000 lbs of food this holiday season.  We are thrilled with what they are accomplishing.

They have already signed up the following companies to hold drives and we are so thankful.

Old Dominion Freight Line

JCP Enterprises

Blackhawk Molding

Quidsi

T & D Machine

Pentair Valves and Controls

Tagg Logistics

1st Choice Truck Service

This effort is just getting started so we will keep you posted on this Hunger Champion’s Work!

Thank you to everyone participating in this drive.
