Kids Cafe is a free meal program for children ages 1-18 years.  During the school year, a free dinner is available at 27 locations throughout Washoe County (most are in public schools).  Kids Cafe meals are supported by USDA and Child and Adult Care Food Programs and are available to all children without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.  Free nutritious meals are served to all children ages 1-18 years.  Meals must be eaten on site.

The Food Bank of Northern Nevada serves Kids Cafe dinners at 27 different sites throughout Washoe County.  The majority of these sites are at Washoe County Schools.  A full listing of sites and meal times can be found at  Kids Cafe Schedule  or at www.fbnn.org.

Most sites serve dinner Monday through Friday with some variations to this schedule. Times vary by site.

For all children ages 1 -18 years of age.  Over 50% of the children in the neighborhoods served are eligible for free or reduced school lunches. Children do not need to be enrolled at the school or be a part of the particular after school program to eat in the Kids Cafe dinner program.

Kids Cafe offers children an opportunity to receive nutritious meals so that they are ready to learn and thrive in school and in life. Over 1/3 of children who live in Washoe County do not have enough food to eat.  Hungry children have more difficulty learning and concentrating in school and miss more days due to illness.
