Whether you are a self-motivated individual volunteer, represent a community or employee group, or are looking for school or work-related, or court-ordered community service opportunities, there’s something for you to do to help at the Food Bank of Northern Nevada. You’ll have fun and help those less fortunate in our region. All are welcome over the age of ten years of age. Children between the ages of 10 and 16 who volunteer must be accompanied by an adult.
Note: There will be no volunteer sessions held on September 26.

Last year our volunteers gave 22,000+ hours of their time, talent and dedication that helped us to feed more than 200,000 people. This is the equivalent of 10 full time employees that helped keep our costs in check and feed more people.
Once a year we recognize groups and individuals for their efforts. The top groups in 2013 were:
Sierra Nevada Job Corps
Boy Scout Troop 443
Reed High School National Honor Society
Sparks Christian Fellowship
Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Nevada
K oinonia Family Services
Summit Christian Church
Many, many individuals also make volunteering an integral part of their lives to help others who have less know that the community cares.
If you are interested in volunteering, and want to know more, check out the Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions and submit our online volunteer request form to sign up. Some of you have asked to have your own virtual food drive to represent the volunteers. Here is the personalized URL for you to contribute with your peer group: here
